Job Description
Two Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) are needed to support K-12 students within a school setting located in Jacksonville, FL. This contract position offers 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, providing consistent and meaningful engagement with students to enhance their communication skills and academic success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Florida SLPA license required
- Experience working with K-12 age groups preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech-language pathology practices in educational environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with speech-language pathologists, teachers, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in evaluating and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Implement therapy plans as directed and provide individualized attention to students
- Monitor and document student progress regularly
- Prepare materials and activities appropriate for various age groups and skill levels
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student educational plans
