Job Title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) K12
Location: Sacramento, CA
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time considered)
Schedule: School Year Calendar (MondayFriday)
Reports To: Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students across K12 settings in the Chehalis, Washington area. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to implement speech and language services, helping students improve communication skills that are essential for academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct therapy services to students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment goals
- Assist in preparing therapy materials and activities tailored to student needs
- Track and document student progress and performance data
- Support classroom carryover strategies and collaborate with teachers and staff
- Maintain accurate and timely service logs and documentation
- Assist in screenings and observations (as directed by SLP)
- Help maintain a positive, structured, and engaging therapy environment
- Adhere to district policies, state regulations, and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field
- Valid Washington State SLPA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of IEP processes and school-based therapy practices is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
- Familiarity with a wide range of speech-language disorders
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required
