Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from pre-K through 8th grade as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the upcoming 20262027 school year. This position is ideal for an SLPA who is passionate about helping children reach their communication goals within an engaging educational environment. Bilingual abilities in Spanish are highly desired to better serve a diverse student population.
This role is located near the vibrant community of Palo Alto, California. Youll work within a single school site, allowing you to build rapport and continuity with the students and staff you serve. The school environment is collaborative and supportive, making it an excellent setting for your professional growth.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience or internship in a school setting preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students ranging from preschool to middle school
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Positive, student-centered approach to intervention and support
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students as directed by supervising SLPs
- Assist in developing and implementing IEP goals and therapy activities
- Support data collection and documentation of student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote communication skills across settings
- Attend team meetings and participate in professional development as required
