Make a meaningful impact in students lives as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). We are seeking a contract professional with experience supporting students in educational settings. In this role, you will collaborate with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and help implement targeted therapy plans designed to foster student communication and academic progress.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited SLPA program and current state licensure as an SLPA
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders in school-aged children
- Previous experience working in a school environment preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to take direction, adapt to new situations, and maintain a positive attitude
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation desirable
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of speech-language interventions under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Conduct group and individual therapy sessions focusing on articulation, language, fluency, and social skills
- Assist in evaluating student progress and maintaining accurate records
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to encourage carry-over of skills in the classroom
- Prepare therapy materials and adapt resources as needed for student success
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all aspects of student interaction
