Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students across multiple elementary and middle schools in the North Fort Myers area as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA). This is a contract position for the full school year, beginning in August and extending through May, with the flexibility to accommodate candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours (up to 37.5 hours per week).
Youll work on-site within a welcoming and collaborative educational environment, facilitating speech and language services for a caseload of approximately 50-55 students. This opportunity is ideal for professionals interested in working with a range of age groups and school communities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and active FL DOH SLPA license required
- Previous experience within school settings and familiarity with student IEPs highly valued
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and district protocols
- Must be comfortable traveling between multiple assigned school sites in the district
Role Responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Provide both individual and group support sessions focused on students speech, language, and communication goals
- Document student progress, maintain caseload records, and communicate updates to teachers, families, and supervising SLPs
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate on intervention strategies
- Assist with screenings, evaluations, and development of therapy materials
Additional Details:
- On-site work only; this position is not open to virtual or remote therapy
- Fingerprinting required; candidates with existing prints in FL may expedite the onboarding process through verification and transfer procedures
- Multiple elementary and middle school assignments available across the district for the 2026-2027 academic year
