Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a dynamic school setting located in Los Angeles, CA. This contract role focuses on providing essential speech and language services to children, helping them improve communication skills in a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing individualized speech therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Support students in practicing articulation, language development, and communication skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress and communicate observations to the supervising clinician and educational team.
  • Prepare therapy materials and maintain a safe, positive environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to facilitate student success.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in a school or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with school-based speech-language services and federal/state regulations related to special education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for working with children and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to follow therapy plans and adapt techniques to individual student needs.
  • Certification or licensure as an SLPA, as required by the state of California.
