Your responsibilities will focus on implementing therapy plans developed by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, working directly with students to address speech and language goals. Youll document student progress, assist with assessments, and collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate communication strategies within the classroom setting. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may work with students of varying ages and abilities.
Desired qualifications and experience include:
- Completion of an accredited SLPA program and current certification/license as required
- Previous school-based experience is highly valued, but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively engaging with students, staff, and families
- Ability to follow therapy plans, document progress, and maintain confidentiality
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting and tracking outcomes
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language interventions under SLP supervision
- Assist in preparing materials and organizing activities for therapy sessions
- Monitor and record student responses and adjust approaches as needed
- Participate in team meetings, contributing insights to student progress
