This position is perfect for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) eager to make a difference across varied educational settings. Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current SLPA license (Maryland)
- Experience in school-based settings or healthcare environments preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to work with diverse age groups and developmental needs
- Commitment to ethical and evidence-based practice
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students, under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Collaborate with special education teams, attending meetings and contributing to IEP development as needed
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Travel between assignments (itinerant work) as required, with travel paid
- Provide services for a full-time schedule, 40 hours weekly, following district calendar
- Participate in ongoing training, utilizing provided resources and support from experienced professionals
- Adapt therapy activities to address a wide range of communication challenges within a specialized educational setting
