This contract position is for a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) working within an elementary school setting in Houston, TX. The role involves providing speech language support services to young students in need, helping to improve their communication skills and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists in delivering speech therapy services
- Implement individualized treatment plans for elementary-aged children
- Document and track student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with educators and staff to support student communication goals
- Participate in team meetings to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist Assistant certification/license in Texas (SLPA)
- Previous experience working in a school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of speech and language development in children
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work 5 days per week, totaling 37.5 hours weekly
