Job Description
This position is for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide support services within a school setting in Harrisburg, PA. This is a contract role focused on assisting speech-language pathologists in delivering effective communication interventions to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing speech and language therapy plans
- Conduct individual and group sessions with students under supervision
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Prepare therapy materials and support classroom activities as needed
- Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support student communication goals
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
- Current SLPA certification or eligibility according to state requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
- Ability to follow therapy plans and adapt techniques to meet student needs
- Experience working in a school environment preferred but not required
