Key qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field is required.
  • Specialized training or educational background in speech or communication disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school teams, students, and families.
  • Ability to adapt strategies based on student needs and work independently under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
  • Previous school-based experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy to students according to individualized education plans (IEPs) under the supervision of an SLP.
  • Assist in conducting screenings and assessments of speech and language abilities.
  • Support SLPs with developing intervention strategies and monitoring student progress.
  • Participate actively in IEP or student support meetings and document services accurately.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, educators, and families while maintaining the highest professional standards.
  • Contribute to school-wide efforts promoting student communication skills.
