Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a K-12 caseload. Working onsite, youll collaborate with educators and speech-language pathologists to deliver essential speech and language interventions, helping students achieve critical academic and social milestones. This is a contract opportunity offering 35 hours per week, perfect for professionals seeking to immerse themselves in a dynamic school environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California State SLPA license required
- Experience supporting K-12 students in a school setting is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of speech and language development and intervention strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with educators, students, and families
- Ability to follow direction from supervising speech-language pathologist and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students individually and in small groups as supervised by the SLP
- Assist with screening and assessment procedures
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with school and district policies
- Prepare materials and activities to support student goals
- Participate in meetings, staff development, and consultations relevant to student services
- Foster a supportive, engaging learning environment for all students on your caseload
