Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Illinois SLPA license required
  • Experience or enthusiasm for working in schools, particularly with high school-aged students
  • Familiarity with both school-based and healthcare SLPA practices is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, educators, and students
  • Previous SLPA experience in educational settings is a plus but not mandatory

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the SLP in delivering speech therapy services to high school students, following treatment plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Support students across various speech and language goals, adapting activities to meet diverse needs
  • Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records as required by school guidelines
  • Participate in team meetings and student reviews as needed
  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with students, families, and faculty
  • Ensure therapy sessions are engaging, inclusive, and student-focused
