Job Description
This full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is based in Cape Coral, FL, supporting multiple school locations within the Lee County area. The role involves working primarily on-site at Harns Marsh Elementary (two days per week) and Mirror Lakes Elementary (one day per week) with a caseload of 50-55 students ranging from early elementary grades. This contract position has an immediate start and runs through June 1, 2026, offering up to 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy support under the supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist
- Assist in evaluating and documenting student progress
- Deliver individualized and group therapy sessions tailored to students specific needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student communication development
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Florida Department of Health SLPA license is required
- Previous experience as an SLPA in a school setting preferred, with flexible pay rates based on years of experience
- Ability to manage a caseload of 50-55 students effectively
- Completion of fingerprinting as required by the Florida Department of Education and/or fulfillment of JLA badge credentials, including verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse if applicable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in working within school environments
