Job Description

Empower students to reach their communication goals by stepping into an engaging contract opportunity supporting a school district near Burlington, VT as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Youll collaborate closely with a dedicated speech-language pathologist, working directly with students to help them overcome speech and language challenges and unlock their full academic and social potential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Vermont
  • Experience in educational or pediatric settings highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff
  • Ability to implement speech and language programs as prescribed by a licensed speech-language pathologist
  • Organizational skills and adaptability within dynamic school environments
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for all students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to students under the supervision of an SLP
  • Assist in conducting screenings and informal assessments
  • Support development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate service records
  • Prepare materials and set up activities designed by the supervising SLP
  • Communicate observations and feedback to the supervising SLP, teachers, and families as appropriate
  • Engage in scheduled team meetings and ongoing professional development
