Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting elementary-aged students as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in a welcoming school environment near Boston, MA. This onsite position allows you to work directly with young learners, helping them develop critical communication skills and thrive in their educational journey.
Requirements and Desired Skills:
- Active Massachusetts Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license required
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills
- Familiarity with a variety of approaches for speech and language support
- Compassion and enthusiasm for working with elementary students
Key Responsibilities:
- Work onsite for 32.5 hours per week within an elementary school caseload
- Implement individualized speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Conduct individual and group sessions to support students communication goals
- Track student progress and provide accurate documentation
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP planning, as needed
- Communicate effectively with families, teachers, and related service providers
