Job Description

Exciting opportunities are available for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants seeking a rewarding contract position supporting students across multiple school locations near Alexandria, VA. This long-term assignment runs from August 24th, 2026, through June 12th, 2027, providing a stable, full-time schedule of 35 hours per week (7-hour workdays). As an integral part of a dynamic educational team, you'll help empower students to achieve their communication and academic goals in a collaborative school setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in Speech or Communication Disorders is required; please note, Virginia does not issue a separate SLPA license.
  • Current Virginia SLP license is mandatory for all candidates.
  • Experience working as an SLPA or in a school-based therapy environment is highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for supporting childrens educational and developmental needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with supervising speech-language pathologists to deliver effective therapy services in accordance with each students Individualized Education Program (IEP).

  • Prepare and implement therapy activities and materials under SLP guidance.
  • Track and document student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate records.
  • Communicate with educators and families as appropriate to support student success.
  • Adapt to scheduling and location requirements as needed throughout the academic year.
