Job Description
Make a tangible impact on elementary students communication skills by supporting grades K-5 within a welcoming, inclusive school environment near Ypsilanti, Michigan. This in-person opportunity is designed for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist eager to help young learners unlock their full potential. The position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, but part-time schedules may also be accommodated for the right candidate. This contract runs through the remainder of the current school year and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders (or equivalent)
- Valid Michigan SLP licensure and current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged children, especially within educational settings, is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Creative, patient, and passionate about student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, identify, and provide direct speech and language therapy to students in grades K-5
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress notes, and required reports
- Engage with families to support carryover of strategies and progress outside of school
