Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with communication needs in a school-based speech-language pathology position for the 2025-2026 academic year. This contract opportunity spans August 2026 through May 2027, serving students in the Morris, Illinois area. The role offers the chance to collaborate with students, educators, and families while providing essential therapy and consultative services across multiple school campuses.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Illinois state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Previous experience in a school-based SLP setting required
  • Strong ability to manage caseloads and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide both direct and consultative services to a caseload of students across Morris Caseload (GCSEC, Nettle Creek, TLC) and Minooka Caseload (Intermediate Autism, Walnut Trails Autism)
  • Serve approximately 39 students in Morris (33 direct, 6 consult) and manage higher-minute caseloads in Autism support classrooms (6 in Minooka Intermediate, 15 in Walnut Trails Autism)
  • Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to students unique needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multi-disciplinary teams, supporting positive outcomes
  • Deliver assessments, progress monitoring, and evidence-based speech-language therapy
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and timely reporting as required by school and district protocols
