Take your expertise in speech-language pathology to North Virginia, just a short drive from Washington, D.C.! This flexible contract opportunity offers meaningful impact across diverse school environments, perfect for professionals who thrive on variety and individualized care. Beginning as soon as possible through late May 2026, this part-time position (10-15 hours per week) involves on-site service in multiple settings: working one-on-one with a 4th grader in their home, supporting a 2nd grader in a school environment, and possibly assisting two students at a private day school while the district secures permanent therapy coverage.
Your skills will help shape communication and confidence for students at pivotal developmental stages, making each session rewarding and dynamic.
What You Bring:
- Active Virginia SLP license in good standing
- Experience or strong interest in school-based speech services
- Adaptability to deliver therapy effectively across home, public, and private school contexts
- Ability to handle time-sensitive credentialing, including initiating the VA Dept. of Social Services check and securing a TB test promptly
- Commitment to on-site (in-person) service only
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized speech-language therapy to elementary students in various educational settings
- Maintain organized, timely documentation and contribute to IEP/educational planning
- Communicate progress and strategies with families, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Support seamless transitions for students and staff while serving as an interim SLP where needed
