Step into a rewarding contract role providing speech-language therapy services in a vibrant school environment. This opportunity focuses on supporting elementary and middle school students, fostering their communication skills and academic success throughout the school year. With full-time hours and a schedule that runs from early August through late May, youll find a consistent routine and a meaningful caseload of approximately 60 students. Depending on needs, you may work at one school or support two locations within a close-knit community. If you hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), supervision of clinical fellows may be included.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license with ASHA certification (or eligible CF) in Alabama
- Professional educator license for Alabama (see state certification portal for requirements)
- Experience in school-based settings (elementary and/or middle school focus preferred)
- Comfortable with a caseload of around 60 students and willing to split time, if needed, between 12 sites
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
- Enthusiasm for working with children of varied backgrounds and needs
- Willingness and ability to supervise CFs if you hold CCCs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services based on IEP goals
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students academic progress
- Maintain compliance with documentation and state regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise and mentor clinical fellows as applicable
