Step into a rewarding opportunity to support students in elementary school settings as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract position focuses on serving grades K-5 in a vibrant, collaborative school environment near Westland, MI. The role is primarily full-time at 37.5 hours per week, but applications from part-time candidates are also welcomed. Work in person through the remainder of the school year, making a meaningful impact each day.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Michigan
- Experience working with elementary school students (grades K-5)
- Solid knowledge of speech, language, and communication development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, staff, and families
- Ability to tailor intervention plans to meet a wide range of student needs
- Previous experience in a school setting is strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and parents
- Provide direct therapy to students in both individual and small group settings
- Document progress and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with school policies
- Participate in parent meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Offer support and resources to teachers and families to promote student success
