Job Description

This contract opportunity is perfect for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) with strong experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and a passion for serving individuals with significant disabilities. Key Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
  • Valid North Carolina state license and Educator Certification
  • Proven expertise with a variety of AAC and Speech Generating Devices
  • Experience working with nonverbal or minimally verbal students, especially those with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively alongside other school-based SLPs
  • SLP-CFYs and SLPAs are not eligible for this assignment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, consultation, and intervention for high school students on support plansmajority indirect therapy
  • Deliver specialized AAC support, device programming, and implementation in collaboration with the educational team
  • Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and monitor effective communication strategies
  • Accurately document services and student progress in accordance with district standards
  • Potential to combine hours with other school assignments for those seeking more than 1-2 days per week
