Job Description
Make a significant impact in students lives as a Speech Language Pathologist working on-site within an elementary school environment. This contract opportunity is based near Waukegan, IL, where youll collaborate with educators and specialists to support diverse learners from kindergarten through fifth grade, including students with autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and a variety of learning disabilities. Youll work primarily under a push-in model, serving a caseload of 20-40 students and delivering essential speech and language services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP Endorsement required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of interventions for ASD, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-focused academic environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language services to K-5 students within classroom settings
- Design, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Conduct evaluations, prepare reports, and track student progress toward IEP goals
- Educate and support teachers and families through effective communication and strategy sharing
- Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to foster students' academic and social development
