Key Qualifications:

  • Current Speech Language Pathology (SLP) license in Rhode Island
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) highly desirable
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school or healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to tailor therapy to diverse student needs in a middle school environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and evidence-based practice

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEPs
  • Provide direct intervention to students and consult with educators to support classroom integration
  • Document progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with families to foster continuity of care and progress outside of school
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that empowers all learners
