Qualifications and Desired Experience
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license for Virginia, or status that will be active by August
- Previous experience in a school setting, particularly working with students with behavioral disorders
- Demonstrated ability to adapt strategies for a range of learning and communication needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of speech and language therapy services to elementary students with complex behavioral profiles
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in close partnership with interdisciplinary teams
- Provide direct intervention and therapeutic support in both individual and group settings
- Track student progress, document treatment outcomes, and communicate results to staff and parents
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture
- Offer consultation and training to teachers and support staff to enhance program effectiveness
