Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity providing speech-language services within an elementary school environment located near Valparaiso, IN. This contract position is available from August 10th through the end of October as you cover for an SLP on FMLA during the initial 12 weeks of the school year. Youll have the support of an assigned Speech-Language Assistant (SLA) and enjoy working with a diverse caseload across two elementary buildings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering direct speech-language therapy to students in compliance with their IEPs
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and staff to support student communication needs
  • Conducting assessments, developing goals, and providing progress reports
  • Overseeing the work of the SLA assigned to assist with the larger caseload (117 students)
  • Maintaining records and documentation in line with school and state requirements
  • Utilizing your clinical expertise on-site or, if you prefer, via VOCO/online methods

Ideal candidates possess:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid SLP-CCC certification
  • Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings
  • Indiana state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Comfort managing higher caseloads with the assistance of an SLA
