Job Description
Seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide telespeech and teletherapy services in a school setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position requires supporting students within a local public school district, with specific caseload details to be determined.
Location: Metairie, LA (serving schools in the greater New Orleans area)
Assignment Dates: August 3, 2026 May 27, 2027
Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours daily with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
School District: Jefferson Parish
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver remote speech-language pathology services to students utilizing teletherapy platforms
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans addressing communication disorders
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student progress
- Complete district-required credentialing and comply with Human Resources documentation procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is mandatory
- Experience or interest in telepractice within a school environment preferred
Additional Information:
Offers for this position are contingent upon the school boards renewal of the contract during their June 3, 2026 meeting. This contingency will be noted in candidate contracts and placement documentation.
