Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in pediatric populations within a school setting located in Tacoma, WA. This role involves providing speech and language services to students across various grade levels, including early childhood, preschool, kindergarten, elementary (K-5), middle school (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and student records in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an SLP in pediatric or school-based settings
  • Familiarity with early childhood through high school age groups
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development milestones and disorders
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration within an educational team
  • Ability to manage caseload and prioritize responsibilities efficiently
  • Licensure and certification appropriate to practice as an SLP in Washington state
