This part-time assignment covers 10-15 hours per week across three schools. Youll work one-on-one with a 4th grader in the home setting, support a 2nd-grade student at school, and potentially serve two students in a private day school while the district secures a permanent therapist. Exposure to both public and private educational environments will stretch your skills, deepen your clinical experience, and broaden your professional network.
Ideal candidates bring:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology licensure in Virginia
- Previous experience in school-based SLP settings preferred
- Ability to complete credentialing and background checks promptly (VA Dept. of Social Services, TB test)
- Commitment to in-person services; virtual options not available
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized therapy sessions for students in both home and school environments
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and administrators to support student progress
- Documentation and management of caseload in accordance with school and regulatory requirements
