Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a school district near South Hill, VA. This role focuses on helping students improve communication skills, enhance academic success, and build confidence through individualized therapy services.
Youll collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, student-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct speech, language, and communication evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct therapy services to students (K-12 population)
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Active or eligible Virginia SLP license through the Virginia Board of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology
- Completion of supervised clinical fellowship (or CF candidates welcome, depending on district)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Prior school-based experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
