Job Description
Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to a supportive school environment as an on-site SLP for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity is located near Smyrna, DE, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Candidates will collaborate with students, faculty, and families to provide essential speech therapy services, complete evaluations, support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and engage in meaningful meetings. This vital role ensures that students receive the communication support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Requirements:
- Possess an active Delaware (DE) speech-language pathologist licensure/certification (provide confirmation upon submission)
- Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Relevant school-based SLP experience is strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of writing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to complete assessments and progress monitoring
- Experience using Data Service Center and PowerSchool IEP is desirable
- SLPAs are not being considered for this position at this time
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech therapy services to assigned students across grade levels (to be determined)
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments
- Write and implement effective IEPs
- Attend and contribute to IEP and team meetings
- Maintain detailed therapy notes and documentation
- Track and report on student progress
