Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students communication needs working as a Speech-Language Pathologist on a contract assignment in the Sitka, AK area. This exciting opportunity puts you at the center of a vibrant educational setting, collaborating with teachers and families to help students thrive academically and socially.
Desired Qualifications:
- Holds a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP licensure (or eligibility) for the state of Alaska
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred but not always required
- School-based or pediatric experience is highly valued
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of speech, language, and communication disorders
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with children, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver evidence-based therapy tailored to each students unique needs
- Provide consultative support to educators and parents on strategies for in-classroom communication support
- Document progress, maintain records, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities when available
