Job Description
Take on a rewarding role providing essential speech-language services to students in a supportive educational environment. This full-time, contract opportunity begins in December and spans a 12-week period to cover a maternity leave. Youll play a key role in helping young learners meet their communication goals while also having the chance to mentor and supervise a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLP license required
- Clinical experience with pediatric populations
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; SLP-CFYs are welcome to apply
- Previous school-based SLP experience strongly desired
- Skilled in evaluating and providing interventions for a diverse student caseload
- Experience supervising or mentoring support staff (SLPA) is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language evaluations, therapy, and consultative services for students
- Supervise and guide the assigned SLPA, delegating tasks and offering professional support as needed
- Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with educational team members and families
- Monitor student progress, maintaining clear and accurate documentation in compliance with regulations
- Foster open communication with teachers, parents, and school administrators
