Job Description
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support students in grades K-5 at an elementary school setting. This position is based in Ray, MI, and offers an engaging opportunity to provide direct in-person therapy services to young learners, helping them develop essential communication skills.
This is a contract role continuing through the remainder of the current school year, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Consideration will also be given to part-time applicants seeking flexible hours within this timeframe. The position includes benefits, adding value and security for the contract duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments, screenings, and evaluations for students in grades K-5
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy services within the school environment
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress and provide consistent communication strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and student progress reports
- Participate in relevant team meetings and professional development opportunities
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children (K-5)
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders
- Ability to work effectively within a school team and communicate with families
