Step into a dynamic and supportive school-based role as a Speech-Language Pathologist, working onsite with K-12 students. This full-time, contract opening offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference over the 2026-2027 school year (September through June), with placements available in Olympia, Auburn, and Lakewood, Washington. Caseloads are thoughtfully maintained and do not exceed 50 students, providing an environment where your expertise and attention to individual needs truly matter.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Washington State SLP license
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) Certification required
- Open to ASHA-certified SLPs (CCC) and Clinical Fellows (CFY)
- Experience in schools or with pediatric populations preferred
- Competence in conducting and interpreting standardized assessments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students aged preschool through 12th grade
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs, with direct and consultative therapy services
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to determine special education eligibility
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation for IEPs, service logs, Medicaid billing, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate consistently with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers
- Offer consultation to staff and share resources supporting speech-language development and classroom accommodations
- Effectively balance scheduling therapy, assessments, and meetings across assigned schools
- Comply fully with IDEA, WAC, and district policies
- Adapt to potential changes in caseload age group, based on preferences and district needs
