Make a difference in students lives as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist working in a supportive middle school environment near the Poteet, TX area. This full-time opportunity begins August 11, 2026, and runs through May 21, 2027. Youll work closely with students and educators to deliver impactful speech and language services, supporting communication and academic growth.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Texas
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working in school settings, especially with middle schoolers
- Bilingual skills are a plus, though not required
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality speech/language therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in a school setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, families, and other specialists
- Provide engaging direct therapy to students individually and in groups
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress notes, and communication logs
- Collaborate with educators and administrators at McNair MS to foster a positive learning environment
- Attend team meetings, contribute to intervention planning, and participate in IEP reviews
- Effectively communicate with parents/guardians about student progress
