Job Description

A school-based speech-language pathologist (SLP) or speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) is needed to support elementary students in a contract role starting in early January 2025. This opportunity is based in an elementary school environment in Portland, ME, serving students from kindergarten through fifth grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a certified SLP.
  • Support students with communication disorders to improve speech, language, and social communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to intervention planning.

Qualifications/ Desired Experience:

  • Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with CCC credentials or licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with school-based experience.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5th grade).
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders common in school-aged populations.
  • Ability to work onsite three to four days per week.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within an educational setting.

Contract Details:

  • Position duration: Contract (Calendar School Year).
  • Start date: January 5th, 2025.
  • Schedule: 3 to 4 days per week.
