Job Description

Provide specialized speech and language therapy services to K-12 students within a school setting located in Portage, MI. This full-time contract position runs from April through the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extending into the summer for Extended School Year (ESY) services. The caseload includes approximately 55 students with diverse needs, including those who are emotionally impaired, moderately cognitively impaired, and severely impaired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs.
  • Implement therapy sessions addressing a variety of speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid Michigan SLP License.
  • Experience working in school settings, preferably with K-12 students.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy modalities is an asset.
  • Commitment to supporting students with varying levels of emotional and cognitive impairments.
