Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting their communication development for the 25/26 school year. This rewarding contract position runs from August 2026 through May 2027, and offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload across multiple local school campuses. You'll be helping students reach their full potential by delivering both direct and consultative speech-language services.

Key Requirements:

  • Active SLP license with CCC
  • Previous experience working in K-12 school settings
  • Expertise with a variety of speech and language needs (including autism and high-need/minute cases)
  • Strong collaboration and consultation skills with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Role Highlights:

  • Serve students in caseloads including Morris (39 students: 33 direct, 6 consult), Minooka Intermediate Autism (6 students), and Walnut Trails Autism (15 students)
  • Deliver a mix of direct therapy and consultative services across elementary and intermediate grades
  • Collaborate closely with staff at multiple school locations, ensuring comprehensive support
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communication with families
  • Implement IEPs and participate in meetings as a valued contributor to the team
  • Engage in ongoing consultation for specialized classrooms as applicable
