Join a dynamic school district in Phenix City, AL, offering contract opportunities for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) focused on pediatrics in a K-12 educational setting. This itinerant position supports 2-3 schools with a caseload of approximately 67 students, providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services tailored to diverse pediatric needs.
Responsibilities include delivering direct speech therapy services, utilizing teletherapy as needed, collaborating with educators and families, and maintaining accurate documentation within the districts IEP system. Therapy spaces are dedicated, and indirect hours for administrative tasks and paid team meetings are offered. The workload balances hands-on intervention with necessary administrative duties. The assignment runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, averaging 37.5 hours per week.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) for SLPs
- Experience in pediatric speech therapy within school settings
- Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and protocols
- Ability to work itinerantly between multiple school locations
- For SLPs, ability or willingness to provide supervision; SLPA supervision is provided by the district
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
