Job Description

Step into an impactful role supporting K-12 students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) on a contract basis through the end of the school year. This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about pediatric speech therapy, school-based intervention, and embracing innovative service models such as teletherapy. With a caseload of approximately 67 students across 2-3 school sites, youll play a crucial role in helping children access the full benefits of their education.

What You'll Bring:

  • Valid SLP-CCC or SLPA licensure, with eligibility to practice in Alabama
  • Experience or interest in school settings serving K-12 populations
  • Skilled at evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech-language disorders in pediatric populations
  • Comfort with teletherapy and/or in-person itinerant work
  • Familiarity with IEP systems (training provided as needed)
  • Collaborative approach and ability to thrive in dynamic, supportive environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services aligned with IEPs
  • Travel between assigned school sites (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, reports, and progress monitoring
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with educators, families, and staff
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and district-provided training
