Job Description

Step into a dynamic role supporting students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) serving campuses in vibrant south Austin. This position runs from November through March or April, covering a maternity leave, and offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated education professionals while making a direct impact on student growth.

Your expertise working with pediatric and school-age populations will be essential, as previous school-based experience is a must. As a full-time, onsite SLP, youll divide your time between Akins High School and an additional nearby campus, managing a diverse caseload addressing speech/language therapy needs, assessments, and IEP participation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Texas SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Demonstrated school-based experience with pediatric and adolescent populations
  • Familiarity with IEP development, speech/language screenings, and evaluation procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to reliably commute to multiple district campuses
  • Bilingual certification is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy services in accordance with students IEPs
  • Conduct evaluations, write comprehensive reports, and participate in eligibility meetings
  • Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation of sessions, goals, and progress
  • Attend required meetings and provide consultative support to staff and families
