Job Description

The assignment covers the full 20242025 school year, beginning in mid-August and wrapping up at the end of May, with a consistent weekly schedule.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), providing direct therapy to students, and contributing to assessments and documentation. This role offers a chance to work within a supportive team and positively impact childrens communication and academic success.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in speech communication or a related field required
  • Valid SLPA credential (or eligibility) for Virginia
  • Prior school-based therapy experience preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Genuine interest in serving school-aged children

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy under SLP supervision
  • Assist with student screenings and assessment preparation
  • Support the IEP process by documenting student progress
  • Engage with teachers and families to optimize student outcomes
  • Provide services primarily at one elementary school, with minimal itinerant expectations
