Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist, where your expertise will support the communication needs of students in vibrant and diverse school communities across the greater Chicago area. This full-time, in-person position spans PreK-8 settings, making a significant difference in the lives of students from various backgrounds throughout several neighborhoods north of the city.
The role begins July 20, 2026, and runs through June 11, 2027, allowing you to build impactful relationships while gaining broad professional experience in K-8 educational environments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist license and SLP-CCC credentials
- Minimum of one year experience providing speech-language services in schools (PreK-8 preferred)
- Bilingualfluent in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong cultural competence and ability to adapt to diverse student populations
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Dedication to fostering positive relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students
- Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to provide integrated support
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district regulations
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varied speech and language needs
- Advocate for students and participate actively in IEP meetings
