Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide services in a K-12 school setting located in Opelika, AL. This contract position runs through the current school year (CSY) and supports multiple schools within the district, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Responsibilities include delivering direct and indirect speech therapy services to an average caseload of 67 students. You will work approximately 37.5 hours per week across 2-3 schools in an itinerant capacity with paid travel time. Therapy sessions may be provided in-person and through teletherapy platforms. The position involves collaboration with teachers and administrators, utilizing the districts IEP system (training provided), and maintaining accurate documentation as required by district policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current CCC-SLP certification or equivalent for pediatric speech-language pathology
  • Experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations
  • Familiarity with teletherapy service delivery methods
  • Ability to manage a caseload up to 67 students effectively
  • For SLPA candidates, appropriate school-based assistant credentials and supervision compliance are required
  • Willingness to participate in team meetings and provide indirect services as assigned
