Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia SLP license, or eligibility for licensure in time for August
  • Previous experience as a school-based Speech Language Pathologist
  • Understanding of serving students with behavioral disorders
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted speech-language therapy to elementary students with behavioral needs
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families
  • Adapt therapy for students in a range of environments from highly structured to inclusive classrooms
  • Maintain accurate records and document student progress
  • Support the greater school community in fostering student growth and communication skills
