Step into a rewarding, school-based role as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Adams County, supporting preschool-aged learners with special education needs. This contract position focuses on providing direct services to students between 3 and 5 years old across the New Oxford and Gettysburg areas. Bring your passion for early intervention and enjoy collaborating with educators and families to foster communication growth in an itinerant capacity.
In this role, you will work on-site within a preschool program for 188 days per year, following a specialized preschool stretch calendar. Your workday runs from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (35 hours weekly, with no overtime), allowing time for both direct therapy and the administrative aspects of high-quality care. To ensure your effectiveness, you will have time each week dedicated solely to paperwork and preparation.
What youll need to succeed:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Pennsylvania SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates welcomed
- Experience or strong interest in working with preschoolers and special education populations
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Strong organizational and time management skills for an itinerant schedule
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to preschool students with special needs in classroom and itinerant settings
- Complete evaluations, progress reports, and maintain compliance documentation
- Partner with teachers and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize provided technology and resources, including a laptop, iPad, lesson pix subscription, materials, and testing kits
