Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students during a vital period of their school year. This onsite position, located near New Orleans, LA, offers the chance to provide exceptional speech-language pathology services at Schaumberg Elementary. Youll work with a caseload of 50-60 students, addressing their communication needs and promoting their growth in a collaborative educational environment. The assignment covers a maternity leave from September 14th to November 30th, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Active SLP-CCC or eligibility as a Clinical Fellow (CFs are encouraged to apply)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children
  • Current Louisiana state licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to implement IEP goals, complete evaluations, and maintain progress notes
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with staff, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy to elementary students onsite
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers and support staff
  • Maintain thorough, accurate documentation on each students progress
  • Adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
