Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity focused on supporting students communication development in an engaging school setting. Starting August 2026 through May 2027, this role is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist eager to make a meaningful difference within a collaborative special education environment. Working full time (32.5-37.5 hours per week), youll support students across multiple locations in the area, including Morris Caseload (39 students, a mix of direct and consult cases) and Minooka Caseload, which includes high-minute autism groups.

Youll collaborate closely with educational teams, provide both direct and consultative services, and ensure students are supported throughout their school day. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your clinical expertise and passion to a dedicated student population.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid SLP-CCC and appropriate state licensure
  • Previous school-based SLP experience required
  • Comprehensive understanding of IEP processes and special education procedures
  • Comfortable managing caseloads with both direct and consult service needs
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy to a diverse caseload (elementary to intermediate)
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and progress monitoring
  • Serve as a resource for school staff and families
  • Deliver inclusive practices tailored for students with autism and higher-needs communication challenges
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation
