Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students communication and learning needs for the 2024-2025 school year. This position offers a diverse and engaging environment across multiple elementary and itinerant sites with a start as soon as possible and work continuing through late May.
Youll utilize your speech-language pathology skills in traditional and teletherapy settings, with responsibilities focused on serving pediatric populations. You may also provide supervision for an SLPA, ensuring high-quality service delivery across various classrooms, including those for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. There's an emphasis on close collaboration with school staff, access to dedicated therapy spaces, and paid administrative and indirect hoursincluding team meetings. Training on IEP systems will be provided, and the process is efficient with rapid interviews via Zoom and quick decision-making.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active SLP license (NC or eligibility for reciprocity)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate
- Previous experience in schools, pediatric settings, or healthcare environments preferred
- Familiarity with teletherapy and school-based caseloads
- Skills in supervising SLPA staff (preferred but not required)
- Ability to effectively manage caseloads and work collaboratively
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to assigned students
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop IEPs
- Work collaboratively with educators and families to support student progress
- Participate in team meetings and provide necessary documentation
- (If needed) Supervise and mentor assistant staff
